About Us
I was released from the Men's County Jail with no where to live and no stable income. I was comnected to one of OACH&RC's care coordinators who was able to get me connected to transitional housing where I was provide a safe place to stay. I was provided with clothing, furniture, and 3 meals per day. I was assisted with getting my social security benefits restarted and they helped me find a 1 bedroom that I could afford. I am so glad that I was referred to OACH&RC by LACADA. Still today OACH&RC continues to a place where I go to recieve services.
I have been dealing with anger issues since quite a young age. And it has always led me into hot waters. But thanks to OACH & RC, their anger management program has helped me improve over time.
I was going through an extremely tough time last year, and stress was eating me up completely. My mental health was only getting worse with each day. Open Arms Community Health & Service Center helped me move towards a path of positive thinking and courage.
Our organization and been working with OACH&RC to provide Itensive Case Management to the participant that our organization provides housing to. OACH&RC has been a resources for our clients and they are able to take full advantage of all of the services that are offered. Our clients are able to recieve immediate medical treatment, mental health support, group therapy and permanant housing. We are so happy with the results and look forward to our continued relationship.
While living at a safe park location in my vehicle for 6 mos , I was able to obtain a Section 8 Voucher. After receiving the voucher I did not know the first steps to locating a place that would except the voucher. I called OACH&RC and in 1 day their housing navigators helped me to find an apartment in which accepted section 8 and was willing to allow me to complete an application and RTA packet. In 32 days I was out of my car and into my new 1 bedroom duplex. OACH&RC donated me furniture to ensure I was comfortable. Now having a safe place to live has allowed me to start working again . Now I am stable and I am so glad that I was referred to OACH&RC.
My 16 yrs old daughter began experimenting with Drugs & Alchol and as a result she has been having difficulties in school. Her grades had declined, she began dealing with deppression and having suicidal idealation, so the school refffered us to OACH&RC. Thank God for OACH&RC , they have the best Therapist and Counselors. My daughter attended groups and private therapy sessions and is thriving again. We recommend OACH&RC to anyone who has a child that may need cousleling and would benefit from therapuetic session.
